Ballerina-In-Training

Palmer attended her first dance class today. Seeing her in her little leotard, tights, and ballet slippers gave me some serious feels. She’s practically a full on adult.

I was a little nervous going into the class. Palmer isn’t known for following directions so I wasn’t sure how she would do, especially with the temptation of a new surrounding and lots of new friends to play with. Well, she did exactly how I expected. Girlfriend was doing her own thing the entire time.

It didn’t help that the class was overly booked. They said they normally have 5-7 students in the class. Today they had 11. Little ballerinas errywhere.

Palmer decided she would like to lead the class and stood directly in front of the instructor during warm-ups while the rest of the little girls followed along while standing on the line. Then Palmer got distracted by some little stars so she went to play with those for awhile. At one point they were able to wrangle her into standing by the bar and stretching on the ground. Other than that? Pure chaos.

Despite our initial dance class struggles, we are going to go ahead and enroll her. I’m hoping over time she’ll get the hang of it and her listening skills will improve. Until then, I’ll have to settle for all this cuteness wrapped in pink.

PS – Afterwards, we stopped by In-n-Out for some dairy free deliciousness (no dairy in the spread)! The burger is actually surprisingly super good without the cheese.

I think it’s this age. We stated gymnastics and had something similar going on. Already saw a difference from the first class to the second so I’m sure you will too!
